McGuill Named La Palmera Marketing Manager

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (March 29, 2011) – Celena McGuill has joined La Palmera as marketing manager. 

“We are pleased to have Celena on board at La Palmera,” said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. “As La Palmera continues to evolve as a top retail destination in South Texas, she will be responsible for expanding our promotional and community efforts here in the Coastal Bend. Her extensive experience in marketing and community partnerships will be a plus.”

McGuill, who started in her new position March 28, is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing and sponsorships, building and maintaining community partnerships with the regional hospitality industry and non-profit organizations, as well as expanding the services of the concierge and incentive programs. 

Prior to joining La Palmera, she worked as a marketing director for Prime Retail’s flagship property, Prime Outlets in San Marcos, Texas, where she was recognized as an ICSC Maxi Award finalist in two categories -- Events and Promotions as well as Alternative Revenue Generation, winning the silver award in the latter. She has also served as marketing director for other notable retail companies including Mills Corporation, Simon Property Group and Triyar Cannon Group. 

A graduate of Texas A&M University Kingsville and University of Houston, McGuill has also served on the American Marketing Association Executive Board (San Antonio Chapter), Central Texas Medical Center Foundation Board, San Marcos Convention and Visitor Bureau Tourism Board and San Marcos Chamber of Commerce Events Committee.

Originally from Alice, Texas, she now resides in Corpus Christi with her husband.
