DISCOVER THE POWER OF PINK AT LA PALMERA 

Month-long celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness to feature variety of events

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (September 19, 2011) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and La Palmera will celebrate it with the Power of Pink.

The month-long series of awareness and fundraising events, also sponsored by Radiology Associates, LLP, kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 29 and culminates with a fashion show and check presentation to the American Cancer Society on Saturday, Oct. 29.  

“We are proud to once again host the Power of Pink at La Palmera,” said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. “Breast cancer awareness is a potentially life-saving message and one that we work hard to help deliver to the Coastal Bend community.”

The Power of Pink kick-off event will be held on Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. in Center Court near Coach and includes the unveiling of poster-size photos featuring the stories of 21 Coastal Bend breast cancer survivors. There will be additional photo and story exhibits on display in the mall, as well as events throughout the month such as a community health fair Oct. 8. Shoppers will also find plenty of pink items for purchase, including t-shirts, pink ribbons and more, on sale at Concierge and other mall locations, with proceeds going to help in the fight against breast cancer.

La Palmera will wrap up the month celebration with the Power of Pink 2011 Style Show, presented by Radiology Associates, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2:30-4 p.m. in Center Court. The fashion show will feature the breast cancer survivors whose portraits and bios will be featured at La Palmera. The ladies will be sporting the latest in La Palmera fall fashions -- casual to formal.  The event is free to the public, but front-row VIP seating will be available for $50, with proceeds going to help the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. At the conclusion of the show, La Palmera and Radiology Associates will present a check to The American Cancer Society.
