Trademark Property Company regulation to take effect Nov. 1
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Oct. 15, 2008) – La Palmera is set to begin enforcing a new parental escort policy on November 1.
The policy states children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 7 p.m. while in La Palmera’s public areas. The policy, which is standard at all Trademark Property developments, does not apply to those who may be dining in a restaurant or shopping in one of its stores.
“We’re not going to go through the stores to pull out those who may be younger than 17,” said Trademark Founding Partner Terry Montesi. “If young people are shopping in our stores or grabbing a bite to eat in a restaurant or the food court, that’s not an issue.
“Shoppers of all ages are always welcome at La Palmera; we just believe that after 7 p.m., it’s important that there be some adult supervision of those younger than 17. It’s a policy that works at our other developments and we have found that it helps to make the shopping experience more enjoyable for guests of all ages.”
Beginning Nov. 1, La Palmera personnel will enforce the policy after 7 p.m. by requesting proof of identification of individuals found in La Palmera’s public spaces who appear to be without parental supervision. Those unable to produce proof of age will be asked to leave the property until they can return with proper identification.
Those who have been dropped off at La Palmera will be escorted to a phone at the property where they can place a call to make transportation arrangements. These unescorted children will be required to remain with La Palmera personnel until their transportation has arrived.
Details of La Palmera’s parental escort policy will be available on the new La Palmera Web site, www.lapalmera.com, which will debut this week.
