La Palmera Ready To Provide Holiday Cheer

Santa, gifts for shoppers, entertainment and new valet parking sure to make the season bright

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Nov. 12, 2008) – This holiday, it pays to shop at La Palmera – in some cases, literally – as the mall rolls out a variety of services and holiday happenings for shoppers.

The holiday season kicks off with Santa’s annual arrival on Wednesday, Nov. 19. The evening’s festivities are scheduled from 5-9 p.m. with live music and performances throughout the mall. Santa, who is scheduled to touchdown in a helicopter just after 6 p.m., will then take his traditional spot in the mall’s Center Court. Shoppers will also be treated to a special “open house” that evening with retailers giving demonstrations of their products and in some cases, offering samples. Shoppers can visit Santa and enjoy special holiday musical performances through Dec. 24.

A special holiday gift with purchase program kicks off Dec. 1 and runs through Dec. 12. Shoppers who bring $350 in same day receipts to the La Palmera Concierge on the mall’s main level will receive a reusable La Palmera canvas tote bag and a $10 La Palmera Gift Card as well as two vouchers for the new valet parking service. Beginning Nov. 20, shoppers can drop off their cars at the valet stand located near the main entrance adjacent to South Padre Island Drive. Valet parking will be a permanent service offered at La Palmera.

“We are working to make the shopping experience as good as it can be at La Palmera,” said Trademark Property Founding Partner Terry Montesi. “We’re upgrading the mall and the services we provide right along with it.”

La Palmera is also the place to help others this season and has partnered with three local charities to provide weekend gift wrapping for tips and donations, Friday through Sunday, beginning Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 21. Volunteers representing The Rise School of Corpus Christi, Ronald McDonald House and Big Brother/Big Sisters will each take a weekend and be stationed at the SPID entrance by Nine West Shoes. The Angel Tree will be in place once again to provide gifts for needy families and The Salvation Army will also stage their annual bell-ringing campaign.

School and church choirs, instrumental and ensemble groups, dance troupes are also welcome to schedule performances.
