Local pet owners have photo ops with the “Man in Red” at La Palmera; portion of proceeds to benefit local animal organizations

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (December 5, 2008) – So, has Spot been a good pooch this year? Pet owners may bring their beloved family members, naughty or nice, for “Pet Night with Santa,” Wednesday, Dec. 10, and again the following Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 6-10 p.m. in the mall’s Center Court.

A portion of the proceeds from the photos sold Dec. 10 will benefit the Gulf Coast Humane Society who will also be doing pet adoptions on site that evening outside the mall’s main entrance; the Dec. 17 event will benefit the Pet & Animal Local Shelter (PALS).

“For many, including myself, pets are family members,” said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters.  “In the past, the mall has received many requests from shoppers to have holiday photos taken with their pets and we are excited to host such an event for the community this year.”

Only cats and dogs are allowed and must be in a cage or on a leash at all times.  Pet owners are asked to enter & exit through the main entrance.
