Shopper Convenience A Priority As La Palmera Construction Cranks Up

VALET PARKING, NEW AND IMPROVED VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION, RELOCATING SHOPS TO ENSURE BEST EXPERIENCE

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (June 2, 2009) - As crews begin the next phase of renovations at La Palmera, including closing the main entrance, mall officials are working to ensure shopper convenience. Efforts include the unveiling of new stores, a new elevator and pair of escalators as well as valet parking each and every weekend.

"La Palmera is dedicated to providing the best shopping experience despite the heavy construction," said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. "We're focusing on amenities and experiences we can offer to maintain a pleasant shopping experience. It's nice having the new pair of wider escalators at the transition court near Concierge and the elevator by Aeropostale up and running. It greatly enhances the shopping experience for guests, helping them to more easily reach our stores on the upper level."

The main entrance is expected to remain closed until November as it is transformed into a lifestyle entrance, featuring an outdoor gathering area and lush palm landscaping. As a result, valet parking has moved to the mall entrance located just to the left of the main entrance and will be available every Friday through Sunday during regular mall hours. Construction activity will affect some parking areas so valet parking will continue to be a convenience to many.

Although the Macy's expansion is in full swing, shoppers can still easily access the store from inside the mall. The first phase of Macy's renovation is slated for completion this summer.

Relocations, renovations and new store openings are expected throughout the coming year as La Palmera undergoes its transformation with five stores having already relocated because of either Macy's ongoing expansion work or the main entrance construction. In all, more than 15 will move into new locations. La Palmera will update mall directories on a quarterly basis as changes take place; shoppers can also get the latest store information from Concierge.

• Footaction, USA is now open on the upper level adjacent to Forever XXI.
• Aman's Jewelers is now in their new location across from Chick-fil-A.
• Sunglass Hut will remain near Macy's with a new store under construction across from Shi.
• The Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop is currently under construction on the upper level next to GNC.
• Former main entrance area merchants EyeMasters and Spencer Gifts feature updated store designs in their new locations near JCPenney.
• Hot Topic has moved into a temporary space on the upper level adjacent to Lane Bryant.
• Kay Jewelers is currently undergoing a full store remodel.
• Gordon's Jewelers will be moving to a new location in Center Court next to Motherhood Maternity.
• Trade Secret is now in a temporary location next to Bath and Body Works.
• Lids will move next to Dillard's on the lower level this summer.
• MasterCuts will be relocating across from Chick-fil-A this summer.
• Regis Hairstylist plans to relocate to the new upper level retail expansion this fall.

"We are encouraged by the response from our stores," said Walters. "They share our enthusiasm for the level of shopping experience La Palmera will soon provide. We also continue to attract potential stores and at the same time, provide possible new franchise opportunities to local entrepreneurs."
