CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - On Tuesday, June 30, club members are invited to meet at Concierge for their monthly club event featuring a walking class hosted by the Corpus Christi Athletic Club.
The Wave Walkers will have two chances to participate in the special classes held at 8am and 9am. The walking classes will provide instruction in proper stretching, followed by a few test laps around the mall lead by a fitness expert.
Members can also try their luck at a few rounds of Bingo during the two-hour monthly event from 8 to 10am for a chance to win an assortment of prizes and complimentary refreshments provided by La Palmera and participating stores in West Court, near Forever XXI.
"We encourage anyone who is interested in our free Wave Walkers program to come out and see what it's all about," said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. "We want our mall walkers to have fun while they learn about fitness and look forward to providing more exciting programs each month for our members."
In addition to the walking classes, members attending the June event can take part in free health screenings provided by the Texas A&M Health Science Center Coastal Bend Health Education Center that include tracking members' weight, body mass index and body fat percentage.
Wave Walkers membership is free and includes a welcome kit and membership card providing shopping incentives and discounts from La Palmera merchants such as Trade Secret, Bourbon Street Candy Co. and Nine West. In addition to monthly events, members continue making their daily trek around the mall.
