LA PALMERA TO SPONSOR ART MUSEUM OF SOUTH TEXAS SPECIAL EXHIBIT
Mall's community involvement continues; special Art Museum gift with purchase Oct. 1-15
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Sept. 23, 2009) - La Palmera today announced it is sponsoring the new Inside Peanuts: The Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz exhibit on display at the Hick's Children's Gallery, Oct. 14, 2009 through Jan. 10, 2010.
Guests will learn about the life of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz and the story behind the creation of one of the most popular and influential comic strips of all time. The exhibit includes numerous high-res digital reproductions of original Peanuts strips, dozens of other items showing Schulz's development of the characters, as well as the works of other prominent cartoonists who most influenced Schulz.
"La Palmera is proud to work with the Art Museum of South Texas to sponsor this wonderful exhibit," said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. "The Peanuts exhibit will be educational and entertaining for the whole family and we are happy to help bring it to the Coastal Bend community."
To celebrate the upcoming exhibit, La Palmera will offer a special gift with purchase. Shoppers spending $250 any day October 1-15 will receive a family four-pack of tickets to the Art Museum of South Texas. Guests should bring their same-day receipts to Concierge to receive the tickets (while supplies last). The exhibit sponsorship is part of La Palmera's continuing efforts to support the Corpus Christi community. Over the past year, the mall has provided other similar sponsorships, helped collect back-to-school clothing for local children, worked to raise money for numerous area non-profits by developing events and special programs as well as creating two free community programs of their own: the Tide Turners Kids Club and Wave Walkers.
"We are continuously looking for ways to partner with the community," said Walters. "We are lining up our non-profit partners for the upcoming holiday season and already looking beyond into 2010. We welcome input and inquiries from any local group who has an idea of how we might work together."
