“SHOP SMART” -- LA PALMERA LAUNCHES SMART PHONE APP
New app now available on Android, Blackberry and iPhone platforms
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (January 28, 2011)– Whether you have always enjoyed shopping or dreaded its very mention, the new La Palmera smart phone app is guaranteed to make your next trip to the mall even easier.
In development since September of 2010, the new app is designed for all smart phone platforms, including the Android version, which was the first to launch December 13, followed by the Blackberry and iPhone versions, which became available in January. La Palmera posted the official launch announcement today for its 6,600 fans on Facebook and hundreds have already downloaded a version of the new spp.
“We have been anxiously awaiting the completion and launch of the new La Palmera app,” said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. “It will make the shopping at La Palmera even easier and provides a way to really customize the whole shopping experience. We’re already getting positive feedback.”
After downloading the app, shoppers will be asked to create a profile, including shopping preferences and categories where they would like to find special deals. The app offers a variety of categories: “Shop,” for a list of all stores; “Dine,” for all available dining options; and “Indulge,” for all the ways to get pampered at La Palmera. Users will also find a “Map” tab for a mall directory and list of stores as well as “Deals” tab to bring up all current promotions in one place. Store information, including specials can also be accessed individually for each of the more than 100 La Palmera tenants with links to call the store directly or to visit the store’s website, if available.

“We are continuing to move forward in providing unparalleled service for our shoppers,” said Walters. “The completion of our $50 million renovation and grand opening this past summer really marks the beginning of the new La Palmera.”

Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, La Palmera is a 1-million-square-foot super-regional mall with more than 100 retail and restaurant tenants including Dillard’s, JCPenney and Macy’s.
