Forever 21 closing for major renovations; Benjamin’s and other end-of-summer events planned
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (August 9, 2013) – Summer is winding down, but things are still busy as ever at La Palmera.
The new LongHorn Steakhouse at La Palmera will hold a ribbon cutting Monday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m., and open for lunch beginning at 11 a.m. Located at the front of La Palmera between Ulta and the food court entrance, hours for the 6,500-square-foot restaurant will be Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. This is the first Coastal Bend location for Lo“The end of summer can generally be a slower time for retail, but that is certainly not the case at La Palmera,” said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. “We’re very excited about the new LongHorn Steakhouse and have already gotten great feedback on our newest dining option.”
Also on Monday, Forever 21 will begin a major renovation of its two-level store. The upper and lower stores will close end of business on Sunday, August 11, following the tax-free weekend. The new two-level Forever 21, which will include an expanded lower level and an escalator, is scheduled to reopen this fall.
There are several other events planned at La Palmera prior to school starting August 26. Benjamin’s will have a local artist in Center Court August 17 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. to customize any purchase of Tom’s shoes, the Summer of Fun series of free Wednesday night music ends August 14 with Sunday night movies wrapping up August 18, and a blood drive is scheduled August 24 from noon-6 p.m.
