Meanwhile, construction continues on the 2,500-square-foot Urban Bricks Pizza, which is scheduled to open in January adjacent to Grub Burger Bar. Known for homemade dough and fresh ingredients, Urban Bricks’ will also provide delivery service.

Holiday shoppers at La Palmera continue to take advantage of seasonal activities giving back to the community including the popular Pet Night with Santa, presented by Apollo Towing. Already expanded to six nights this year, the overwhelming response has prompted La Palmera to schedule yet another event for Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 5–8 p.m., with a portion of photo proceeds benefitting Kanines and Kitties. Only dogs and cats are permitted and all animals must remain on a leash or in a carrier at all times.

Shoppers using valet parking through Jan. 1 will help Big Brothers Big Sisters and receive a special holiday gift as well. Located at the mall’s main entrance between P.F. Chang’s China Bistro and Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, valet parking is $8 Monday through Thursday and $10 Friday through Sunday with a portion of the proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters, and includes a gift of special offers for La Palmera merchants including Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Häagen-Dazs, Sun Optics and Papaya, as well as one free valet parking pass valid Jan. 2-Feb. 28, 2017.

Guests can take advantage of La Palmera’s charity gift-wrapping service every Friday through Sunday and Christmas week from noon to 6 p.m. at the gift–wrapping station located on the main level at Elves Inc. by Concierge where volunteers from local charities will provide their wrapping services for donations, including Dress for Success Corpus Christi (12/9–12/11), Calallen Topcat Dance Team (12/16–12/18), CASA of the Coastal Bend (12/19–12/21) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas (12/22–12/24).

The clock is also ticking on voting for this year’s favorite tree in La Palmera’s Forest of Giving, a collection of 11 uniquely decorated trees representing different Coastal Bend charities. Located near the escalators by Aldo Shoes, shoppers may cast their vote through Dec. 16 in ballot boxes set up next to the trees and the tree receiving the most votes will win $1,000 for that charity.
