Oakley, Bath & Body Works/White Barn to open larger, newly designed stores

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (July 24, 2017) – La Palmera shoppers will soon be enjoying the delicious offerings of Steak ‘n Shake and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

Steak ‘n Shake will soon be serving its famous made-to-order Steakburgers, hand-dipped shakes and other items in the La Palmera Cafes food court. Construction is set to begin soon on the new 910-square-foot space located between Sarku Japan and HJ Smoothies & Creamery. No opening date has been announced.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory will offer shoppers an extensive line of premium chocolate candies and other confectionery treats, with a variety of premium fudges and other products prepared in the store.  Located on the Main Level of La Palmera adjacent to Aldo, the 858-square-foot location is scheduled to open in October.

Two existing stores will soon have larger locations at La Palmera. Construction is underway on a new 4,933-square-foot Bath & Body Works/White Barn store, which will be located adjacent to Express. Nearly 2,000 square feet larger than the existing Bath & Body Works store, the new location will include the company’s popular soaps, lotions and other personal care items as well as an expanded selection of the popular White Barn candles. Oakley will soon be working on a new 1,926-square-foot store located on Center Court across from their current 1,048-square-foot location. The new store will feature improved display areas, more apparel and changing rooms.

Free series showcasing local talent kicks off June 7

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (May 30, 2017) – La Palmera is kicking off the Sounds of Summer concert series Wednesday, June 7. Free and open to the public, the five-performance series will feature Coastal Bend bands performing a variety of music on stage in La Palmera’s Food Court.

Scheduled for 6–8 p.m. each evening — June 7 and 21; July 5, 19 and 26 — the series features a variety of musical genres.

6/7       Motif Band – Appearing in local clubs and festivals, the band performs a great mix of popular music including classic rock ’n’ roll, funk, oldies, 70s, 80s, 90s dance, Tejano and cumbias rancheras.

6/21     Lyrical Bynge – Professionals by day, rock ‘n’ rollers by night, Coastal Bend residents have likely heard this popular cover band at many local events and venues including Shrimporee, Schlitterbahn, Rock & Ride, Bayfest, and the Cole Park Bay jamming concert series.

7/5       Drive – A local favorite, this five-piece band keeps crowds on their feet with big sounds of the 80s, 90s and today.

7/19     John Ramirez Band – Based out of South Texas, the group has been picking up steam on the local circuit with the release of the self-produced album, “Prayers to Saint Jude.” With all original material, the group has an innovative and signature sound featuring a blend of classic blues and rock.

7/26     The OddFellas – Self-described as “Makers of Music. Creators of Sound. Fellas of Odd.” and drawing inspiration from musicians such as Bruno Mars, Jason Mraz, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, this pop fusion group are regulars on the Corpus Christi music scene.

Final Pet Nights March 28–29 and April 11–12; children’s events April 2, 3 and 4

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (March 28, 2017) – Easter is Sunday, April 16, and La Palmera is providing guests a number of opportunities to meet and interact with the Easter Bunny, who will be in Center Court through Saturday, April 15, for photos during regular mall hours.

La Palmera has scheduled a number of events as well including the final four “Pet Night with the Easter Bunny” events on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 28 and 29, and April 11 and 12, from 5–8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local organizations helping animals: Mission Pawsible (3/28 and 29), For the Love of Strays (4/11) and Kanines & Kitties (4/12). There are several special events also planned for younger guests including Bunny Cares, a program designed for special needs children and their families to spend some quiet one-on-one time for photos with the Easter Bunny. The Shops at La Palmera will be the site for events this weekend celebrating the recent opening of two of its newest tenants.

Chick-fil-A and Grub Burger Bar opening soon at The Shops; Doc Popcorn/Dippin’ Dots set to open at La Palmera

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (May 11, 2016) – The Shops at La Palmera will soon have another new dining option with the announcement of the fast casual restaurant, Urban Bricks Pizza Co.

The 2,500-square-foot Urban Bricks will be adjacent to Grub Burger Bar on a new 6,500 square-foot pad recently completed near Chipotle Mexican Grill. Known for homemade dough and fresh ingredients, Urban Bricks’ diners can customize their own salads and pizzas, including their choice of crust, sauce, and combination of toppings. The restaurant will also provide delivery service.

Chick-fil-A is preparing to open its new restaurant June 9 in a standalone building facing Staples Street by The Shops at La Palmera main entrance, with Grub Burger scheduled to open July 18 featuring eclectic gourmet burgers on homemade buns, fresh salads and side dishes, cutting edge shakes, as well as delicious bar appetizers and cocktails.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (April 11, 2016) – Shoppers will soon be enjoying the popular Doc Popcorn/Dippin’ Dots shop at La Palmera while Christus Health’s new Promptu Immediate Care facility prepares to open at The Shops at La Palmera.

Located on the Upper Level of La Palmera adjacent to Claire’s, the 599-square-foot Doc Popcorn/Dippin’ Dots will offer shoppers a variety of Doc Popcorn’s fresh-popped, kettle cooked popcorn and Dippin’ Dots’ iconic flash-frozen ice cream, sundaes, floats, shakes and quakes. Since joining forces in 2014, Dippin’ Dots and Doc Popcorn have begun bringing their unique blend of sweet and savory treats to shoppers via their co-branded locations across the U.S. The La Palmera location is scheduled to open this summer.

Also at La Palmera, shoppers will find Buckle has just opened its new 6,566-square-foot store now located adjacent to PacSun on the mall’s Main Level.

At The Shops at La Palmera, Promptu Immediate Care is scheduled to open its newest facility April 18. Located in the same building as Chipotle on the opposite end nearest Dick’s Sporting Goods, the 2,500-square-foot Promptu Immediate Care will be staffed seven days a week to provide quick, lower cost medical care for illness and minor injuries. The facility will also provide physicals, immunizations and drug tests with in-house lab testing and x-ray capabilities. Owned and operated by Promptu, the new facility is one of two new Promptu Immediate Care facilities in Corpus Christi.
