LA PALMERA AND THE PURPLE DOOR TEAM UP TO END DOMESTIC ABUSE
Mall shoppers invited to take part in “The Clothesline Project”
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Oct. 1, 2025) — Dozens of purple shirts will soon be on display at La Palmera in honor of domestic violence victims. Organized by local non-profit The Purple Door, “The Clothesline Project” returns to La Palmera Oct. 9–26 in support of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Dozens of purple shirts have already been decorated and will be hung on the clothesline display located along the railing and glass panels on the mall’s upper level overlooking the food court. A community workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, from 12:30–4 p.m. on the upper level, where La Palmera shoppers will be provided a shirt to decorate for the clothesline. Guests may also bring a shirt to decorate if they would like to keep it. (Event subject to change, while supplies last.)
Committed to serving individuals affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault, The Purple Door is a non-profit organization providing services throughout a 12-county region of South Texas, including a 24-hour crisis line, safe shelter, counseling, support groups, and legal assistance.
